so i'm sitting at a stop light with my friend in my car. (I've just gotten my license about a few days ago). I tell him I'm goin to make it to 40 in 2 seconds when it hits green.. I didnt get it =/ but during the wannabesuperacceleration i feel something stutter.. oopsies not good.
so i go to drop my friend off at his house and rev the engine a little bit in neutral just for fun. (wasnt a smart idea) the engine starts shaking the car from side to side.. and i was thinking "oh shiznit not good"
i turn the car on and off to see if that'll fix it but no luck..
i drive home and the engine seems fine, yet everytime i'm in low rpm or stopped the engine starts acting up. I told my parents and we dropped the car off at the mercedes dealership to get it fixed.
Keep in mind that at 25 mph+ the car was fine.. yet below it was doin funky stuff...
i was driving my c230 coupe kompressor 2004.
anybody know what might have gone wrong?

Don't sound like it atall, Was just trying to determain weather you over revved it, and being an Auto no way you did that... Could of had something come lose on the motor like a plug wire but strange that it would run fine at anything of 25 mph... Now not know how the Mercedes does their engine it's really hard to tell what I could be.. I know that it sounds like a coil pack blew but like I said I have no idea if they use a single coil for their whole ignition or individual ones for each cylinder...

i c..
yea its strange..
i didnt even get to the red line at 6k... it was more like 4k..
and it was more like while the car was idle or stopped it shook, but when you stepped on the gas and drove it was fine.

Yes very strange indeed... Not being in or seeing the car do what you say makes it hard to give a judgment as you can rule out over a hundred different things... The easiest way and quickest is doing what you did and just have a Mec hook it up to a diagnostic and let the car tell them whats wrong...
One reason I love older cars, not much computer stuff to screw up...

did it throw a code? one thing about computer stuff that makes it easy, is that the computer tells you exactly what's wrong.

the diag, wont tell you anything unless the there's codes.
could be timing belt skiped a tooth seems like a timing problem.
or a hose is loose. take it to the mech. we dont do so good with german engineering.

Very good point Sambo, if the computer didn't turn the check engine light on then the computer wont tell the diagnostic machine whats wrong...

it could be an intake or vacuum hose come loose and causing an intake side leak. unmetered air could cause then engine to run lean and the o2 sensor fighting the air flow sensor for fuel control. check if there's any hoses that came loose, or cracked, causing a vacuum leak.
