well, not quite. it had a cardiac arrest today. was gonna go to the lodi stadium theaters for a movie and exiting hwy 12 off of I5 when bam, engine stopped running and won't start again. called a towtruck and got dropped off at the apartment. took the valve covers off and voila... timing belt is flapping freely in the wind. the sad part is i was planning to do the timing belt and everything around it around spring time when i get my tax return check. now i gotta find a way to get the parts together and hopefully finish fixing the car ASAP.

sorry to hear your car is down, luckily the B6 is a non-interference motor so i doubt any damage was done

thanks for all your concern, and some of your crazy ideas for alternative solutions.
ben's right, it's a non-interference engine so the valves should be ok. the only thing that sucks is that i have to wait til monday when i get paid to order the parts, so i probably won't even get them til the end of next week.

Speaking of dead cars, i just blew my head gasket this morning. Hella sucks cuz I just installed one a year ago. Thinking of just letting it sit and getting another car. God willing I may opt for a Subie.
