ok whats the trick with this. blurry BG with the car clear. everything I try always f's up the best thing to do is to take photos of cars that pass by your house jessie. you can get an idea of how to do it and you'll get shots like these exposure at 1/400 f/10 300mm exposure at 1/125 f/18 300mm. i've shot the same type of events at 1/60 f/32. the trick is to have the af area mode set to either a single area or a dynamic area. I'm sure you'll have better luck with your new 50mm lens. And with that lens, you won't need to change the af area mode. you can't anyway because, as you know, it's only a manual focus hehe. I think it's a little easier to do a rolling shot than to do a panning shot.

ok whats the trick with this. blurry BG with the car clear. everything I try always f's up I don't really know how professionals do it but the way we did it was have two cars travel at the same speed on a long straight away. The road wasn't that bumpy and no other cars were on it. the photo was shoot at 1/10 f/5 200ISO what's on the red plate, dio? ;D Corn beef, potatoes n rice

Ah thanks for the input and the settings used to achieve the results. I figured kinda it was that.
So for the motorcycle ones you literally had to follow the bike and hope it came out? I understand the RX7 one cause your both moving at the same speed and the BG is moving.

well with the motorcycle one i dialed in the settings before the race started. Then during the pace lap, i took some test shots and adjusted to my liking. Once i had it dialed in, I just kept shooting. The hardest part for me was the focusing part. I was using my 70-300mm lens from my SLR, so no autofocus. When you pan, keep following the subject till after you release the shutter release button. I guess part of it is hoping that it comes out haha i love this photo, she's so cute hahaha oh how i miss the smell
