i gotta longblock 4ag 7rib.
this is generally what needs to be done or parts to get:
new crank bearings, con-rod bearings, thrust washers, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, cam seals & front and rear main seal. and of course, bore out the block to .020 over. and get the .020 over pistons and rings. new head gasket and water pump.
of coures, that's just for the bottom end.
for the head, the general process of checking clearances n all that good stuff.
basicaly I need "the works" done on this sucker. prefbly with all OEM parts. I can get the parts no problem, it's the labor that i need.
I dont know any shops familiar with engine rebuilds coz i've always been the one to do it myself, but I don't have all my tools any more.
I knwo a few of u guys on here can probably do it and i would galdy compensate u for the time spent to put it 2gether for me.
;D

well main reason why i want someone else to do it is cozs i dont have tools..they were stolen a while back. I also don't have aplace to work on it myself. my new place , the garage is so cramped. i can bearly fit my car in there.
if u want to offer me a place to put the pieces 2gether and some tools to use, i'd be more than thankful!
plus, i think the only real shop thign that i need to get done is to bore out the engine. that shoudlnt take anymore than a few days at most.still trying to find a good shop to do it. I'm trying to get this engine completed, in a car , and ready to drive in less than 3 weeks.

Well I don't see a reason I cant offer that to you, I have a work bench and Engine stand. I don't have any specialty tools but I have a very decent set of craftsman tools... If you got time this weekend roll by and we can maybe work something out...

sweet.! i'm picking up the engine 2morrow so i'll give u a call in the afternoon.
also, just coz i dont know sqaut about the 4age.
which would u chose? an almost complete 3rib or a longblock 7rib?
the 7rib needs thigns above to be done .
the 3 rib needs new crank bearings, con-rod bearings, thrust washers, front & rear main seals. and a full compression and leak down test.
as far as parts go, they generally need most of the same parts. the guy im buying the engine from said he completed the build of the 3rib on the head but didnt touch teh bottom block so he's unsure of compression test or miles or all that.
i'm leaning more towards the 7rib becuase it's longblock and i can pretty much start all over and have a basicaly new engine once done.
if i chose the 3rib and finish the build.. adn the engine is pretty worn out.. " me and mad scientist gotta rip apart the block and replace the piston rings" lol...

In this case I think I would go with the sure thing and not guess. So the 7rib would be my pick...

hahah...stockton engine and machine over on union?? i went there...HORRIBLE service. thta was the place that screwed me over on the flange i went to get made. well didnt screw me over, but said thye were going to be done in one week....one week later, they didnt even start yet. plus..prices were outrageous.. as far as machine fabbing parts... I know a guy in sac who can do the work 10x fast adn cost 10x less....and his shit is quality too.
comparison. Stockton engine and machine . $170 and took a week to NOT get done vs. the guy i know who did it in 2 days at only $40.
----------------------------------------------------------
well, i wont buy ur engine, but i'll trade??? + cash on top form my side if ur engine is pretty complete.
i don't need any extra engines laying around...no enough space. my main problem is just time. i need to get this done before school starts in 3 weeks...so having an already built engine is better than getting one built..
wait...i thoguth u were gonna drop the 4age into the 510?
